"The Endolith" is a contemporary take on the traditional plant display system, where our moss wall is preserved within a thin and elegant glass vessel that offers a unique display of nature in your home or office space.
Although ZERO Moss Wall preserved in our lab are non-living, this design is inspired by Endoliths, organisms that can survive extreme conditions of temperature and dehydration, also known as "living rocks" or "stone moss".
These microorganisms can be found living in rock fractures or tiny pores within mineral grains (internal habitats) rather than growing on rocks above ground. The name comes from Greek roots: en means within, and lithos means rock or stone.
