The state of flow, often referred to as being in "the zone" by athletes or the "stillness of mind" as described in Taoism, is a state of complete immersion in the present moment.
It allows one's thoughts and actions to function simultaneously and effortlessly, without friction and accompanied by a razor-sharp focus.
The state of flow is very much a part of our creative process here at TerraLiving. "The Rainforest - Tree Moss Forest" shown here is a meticulously handcrafted piece of moss sculpture with an undulating surface made up of multiple moss species that creates an island-like impression for a cluster of Tree Mosses.
Although there may be an initial idea of how the mosses will come together, many a time during the crafting process, we allow our creative juices to flow freely, aligning ourselves with the path of least resistance and thus allowing nature to unfold.
As such, the final result of each "Rainforest" will be unique and different, making it truly one of a kind.
This season, we are introducing a limited edition run of the handcrafted and hand-painted lacquer wooden base that delivers a distinct look and aesthetic.
By fully embracing the outcome, focusing on the present, and being completely immersed, the man-made and the natural, artifice and random chance were united in a perfect expression of beauty and wisdom.
